Shalom to all,
My name is Atara, and I lived in Israel from 1969-1999. I had the priviledge of seeing the Ethiopian aliya integrate into Israeli society, and the beautiful heritage they brought with them. When Idan's first CD came out, I was thrilled to see how he integrated different cultures into his music, and gave voice to so many talented musicians that may not have otherwise found an audience. For this, Idan, KOL HAKAVOD, all honors to you!
The lyrics have a flavor of Biblical and poetic Hebrew that is so moving... I am not sure any translation does it justice. Mima'amkim is very unique in music and lyrics Bravo
When the first CD came to the USA, I made sure to get one, and look forward to one day being in a Project concert. Meanwhile, anyone who knows me becomes exposed to this music, so either there will be a large following when you get here, or we will have to come to you.... We plan to return to Israel for a visit sometime soon, and hope to see Idan and fans then, Lehitraot, see you then.
